WHO hosts the tours?

  • All tours are currently hosted by Luisa Sherman.  Some information about me:

  • Over 25 combined years of experience in being museum guides, participating in  living history reenactments and doing presentations on 18th century life. 
  • Intimately familiar with the historic sites we offer for tours and can expand the experience beyond reading just the visitor signage.
  • Routinely also present school programs, museum lectures and workshops and conduct living history presentations at local, state and national historic sites around the country. 
WHAT does the tour include? 
     
  • Tours include personalized interpretation and guide service by period attired, knowledgeable , local tour guides.

  • During our "Waterways of War Tour" in Lake George, we drive by at least 7 different historic sites, buildings and monuments.
                 
  • Private Tours are tailored depending on age groups and group size involved

WHEN do tours take place? 

  • Generally our tour season runs from April to October. 

  • Private group tours/step on bus tours are by advance reservation only and can be done any time of year.       

  • We are honoring all midweek tours which were contracted prior to Jan 1, 2015.  However beginning in Jan 2015 we will only be conducting Step On Tour Service and Colonial Programs on evenings and  weekends.  
  • We are available, by special advance arrangements, to provide group walking tours on weekend days or evenings in season.

WHY does it make sense to book a tour versus driving around on our own? 

  • Your tour guide is deeply knowledgeable on all facets of 18th century life in America--feel free to ask  any questions you may have about the founding of our country.
  • Through our knowledge and charismatic way of presenting history, all ages become more familiar with our Country's history and have a better appreciation of what our forefathers went through to allow us to enjoy our freedom today.
  • Your guide is a wealth of information about the history, people and unique places in our area and on your tour.  She can provide additional visitor information, tips and insights.
